MSA FlameGard 5 UV/IR Flame Detector

The MSA FlameGard 5 UV/IR Flame Detector is designed to detect fires while maintaining excellent immunity to false alarms. It provides alarm outputs directly from the detector, and the FlameGard 5 UV/IR-H2 model is specifically designed for hydrogen fire detection.

Note: This product is obsolete and has been replaced by the FL500.

Reliable UV/IR Flame Detection

The detector monitors both ultraviolet (UV) and infrared (IR) spectral ranges to accurately detect fires while reducing false alarms caused by lightning, arc welding, hot objects, and other radiation sources.

Rugged Construction

The electronics are housed in an explosion-proof aluminium enclosure, with an optional stainless steel version available for harsh environments.

Communication Options

Modbus and HART communication provide alarm status, fault information, troubleshooting, and programming capabilities without requiring additional wiring.

Continuous Optical Path Monitoring (COPM)

The built-in COPM self-test automatically checks the optical path and electronic circuitry every minute to ensure reliable operation.

Field of View Oval cone of view (100° horizontal and 90° vertical). 50% of on-axis distance horizontally FoV can extend to 120° (±60°).
