Honeywell FS20X Plus Ultra Violet/Triple Infrared Flame Detector

The Honeywell FS20X Plus Ultra Violet/Triple Infrared Flame Detector improves upon the FSX series by adding WideBand IR and UV technology. It detects a wider range of hydrocarbon, non-hydrocarbon, and hydrogen fires at greater distances while reducing false alarms in challenging conditions such as rain, fog, and smoke.

Diversity of Detection

Detects hydrocarbon, non-hydrocarbon, and hydrogen fires using a single device, eliminating the need for multiple specialised flame detectors.

Operation in Harsh Conditions

Designed to operate reliably in extreme environments with temperatures ranging from -55°C to +75°C and up to 99% relative humidity. TÜV SIL2 certified for dependable performance.

Accessories Included

Comes with a redesigned sunshade and mounting bracket. Choose between standard or marine brackets for easy installation on various surfaces.

Extended Detection Distance

Wide-angle, long-range sensors provide rapid flame detection over extended distances.

  • Detects a 1 ft² (0.1 m²) n-Heptane fire at up to 275 ft (84 m) in approximately 5 seconds.
  • Detects a similar-sized hydrogen fire at up to 90 ft (27 m).

Reduced False Alarms

The combination of one UV sensor and three IR sensors maintains high sensitivity while significantly reducing nuisance alarms caused by environmental interference.

Advanced Flame Detection Technology

The detector combines one ultraviolet sensor with three infrared sensor bands to detect flames from a wide variety of fuel sources, even under poor visibility conditions.

  • Ultraviolet: 0.18 μm – 0.26 μm
  • Near-Band IR: 0.7 μm – 1.1 μm
  • Wide-Band IR: 0.7 μm – 4.2 μm
  • Long-Band IR: 3.0 μm – 5.0 μm

Unlike narrow-band detectors that depend on CO₂ spikes, the Honeywell FS20X Plus monitors multiple wavelength bands to identify developing fires more effectively.

Reliable Performance

The Honeywell FS20X Plus features dual microprocessors for dependable flame detection. One processor manages high-speed signal processing, while the second handles communications, sensor monitoring, self-diagnostics, and event logging for enhanced reliability.
