The Drager PIR 3000 is an infrared fixed gas detector for combustible gases and vapours, suitable for hazardous area locations. The sensor is poison immune and fail-safe.
Suitable for harsh environments, the unit is equipped with a robust stainless steel enclosure and provides high reliability and excellent measuring performance, e.g., fast response and long-term stability. The temperature range is specified from – 40 to + 65 °C, and due to the heated optics, the sensor can be operated in humid environments from 0 to 100 %RH.
With its universal 4 to 20 mA interface, the PIR 3000 can be connected to any 4 to 20 mA control system available in the market (e.g. Drager’s REGARD). A fault signal is provided with 1 mA for straightforward interpretation. Already mounted junction boxes can be further used because metric M25 and 3/4″ NPT thread are available for the transmitter.
Flexible choice from three gas categories – methane, propane and ethylene – is listed in one internal gas library. Individual linearisation curves offer temperature-compensated readings. And if the target gas changes after commissioning? Or is only one stock for different applications required? – No issue, the gas category can be changed easily by the customer himself via a magnetic wand with just a few turns.
A wide range of accessories, including calibration adapter, process adapter and duct mount set, meet the advanced requirements for special applications. The mounting orientation is flexible, and the transmitter is approved according to worldwide preferred standards: ATEX, IECEx, UL and CSA. Weather protection is secured by the attached splash guard, included in delivery and certified with IP 66 and IP 67.
